Tuesday 28 November 2023 is Giving Tuesday.

For nearly six decades, the NCO has been at the heart of Macclesfield’s cultural scene, bringing the enchantment of music to our community. As we approach our 60th anniversary, we’ve embarked on an exciting journey of expansion, taking our concerts to new audiences in Chester and Wirral.

Our music is more than just a performance; it’s a bond that unites us all. With your unwavering support, we’ve been able to share the magic of music with our communities. From inspiring the future generation of artists to bringing joy to those in care homes, our community initiatives and outreach programmes are our way of expressing gratitude.

While we’ve faced challenges, especially since 2020, your generosity has kept our spirit alive and our mission thriving. Looking ahead, we must prepare for unforeseen circumstances that could threaten all we’ve worked so hard to achieve. This Giving Tuesday, we are therefore asking our supporters to consider making a donation, to help the NCO – the North West’s longest standing professional chamber orchestra – remain afloat into 2024 and beyond.

By contributing, you’re not merely supporting music – you’re championing a legacy of creativity, inspiration, and innovation. Your generosity empowers aspiring musicians, fuels groundbreaking performances, and nurtures the very essence of culture. We are also launching our Northern Circle legacy giving scheme. Legacy Giving is your chance to make a meaningful contribution to the Northern Chamber Orchestra’s ongoing success. By including us in your will, you create a legacy that sustains our mission and enriches the lives of countless music enthusiasts.

In essence, we can’t achieve this without your support. Your generosity has the power to orchestrate positive change, ensuring that our orchestra not only survives but thrives for years to come. Remember, you can also Gift Aid your donation at no extra cost to yourself, allowing us to claim an additional 25p for every £1 you contribute.

£20: Donations of this size could help us acquire new sheet music and scores, allowing us to expand our musical offerings.

£50: This amount could support the cost of renting rehearsal spaces where we fine-tune our performances.

£100: Running an orchestra involves administrative work, such as marketing, promotion, and coordination. Your donation could help cover these operational expenses, allowing the orchestra to focus on artistic endeavours.

£200: Contributions at this level could help us invite guest musicians or soloists, adding diversity and depth to our performances.

£250: Donations at this level could support our educational initiatives, such as workshops, masterclasses, and outreach programmes that nurture young talent and inspire future musicians, as we do with Macclesfield Music Centre.

£500: This amount could help cover the costs associated with putting on concerts throughout the North West, including venue hire, technical equipment, and lighting, creating an enhanced experience for the audience.

£1000 +: Larger donations could enable us to continue bringing world-class soloists to our stage, encourage the creation of new compositions, and extend our reach to previously unreached communities.
