Carol has played guest Principal Viola with many of the UK’s leading orchestras, including the Philharmonia, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony, BBC Philharmonic, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, and Opera North. She was a regular fixture of the renowned John Wilson Orchestra, and performs frequently with his Sinfonia of London.
In addition to orchestral performance, Carol also performs extensively with Scottish Ensemble and Manchester Collective.
As a tutor, Carol has taken classes at the Royal College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Birmingham Conservatoire, and the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra.
Highlights away from the classical platform are playing in London’s West End, Harry Potter soundtracks, working with Scottish traditional musicians Chris Stout & Catriona McKay, and performing live with Barbra Streisand.
Carol’s viola is by Christian Bayon, modelled on a Carlo Antonio Testore viola from 1741.
