The NCO is regularly engaged by event and festival promoters / choral and music societies who are keen to work with a highly-regarded professional chamber orchestra.

NCO Big Occasion ConcertsOn the concert platform, the NCO typically comprises between 16 – 20 players (depending on the repertoire).

Generally, the NCO is a conductor-less orchestra and is directed from the Lead Violinist’s Chair by the Artistic Director, Nicholas Ward.  Whilst having the benefit of being more cost effective for concert promoters, it also has the added advantage of giving the hirer the option to work either more directly with Nicholas and the orchestra, or to bring in its own conductor.

For choral societies, we are happy to be conducted by their director; this would also apply to festivals. Season Tickets

For outdoor concerts, and other occasions where a large orchestra is required, the NCO can expand up to approximately 50 players.

In terms of repertoire, the NCO is happy to incorporate works by living composers (both established and less experienced) and is always open to suggestions from promoters.  Alternatively, we are happy to help you to devise engaging programmes, suitable for your audience and budgets.

Regarding soloists, we are equally ‘at home’ working with emerging young artists and national / international performers – either suggested by the promoter, or by the NCO.  Many of the NCO Members are highly-regarded soloists in their own right.

On a more intimate scale, the NCO musicians perform in smaller groups as NCO Soloists.  Click here for further information.
