Review Excerpts:
Canadian guitarist
Norbert Kraft gives a crisply played performance, with fine support
from the Northern Chamber Orchestra, with two other popular concertos
from Villa-Lobos and Castelnuovo-Tedesco for good measure.

Evening Mail April 1994
The time has
long passed when it was possible to point to any one recording
of any of these concertos (the Rodrigo in particular) as The Best;
as with players, one can only discern a "top bracket" within which
choice depends finally on personal preference - or allegiance
to one's favourite performer; Kraft's recording of these concertos
takes its place therein..The Northern Chamber Orchestra plays
with the freshness of an orchestra that is still making its way
in the world - and one that has not met these works too often
before; they are alert to every detail and the beautifully clear
recording catches it faithfully.

The Good CD Guide 2001
The Northern
Chamber Orchestra have struck artistic gold with this one.. From
the moment of the first strummed chords you know this is going
to have life in it, and the NCO do not disappoint either. Their
alert and glowing sound is captured with a warm and resonant acoustic
at the BBC's Studio 7 in Manchester, and their playing is the
expected combination of verve and musicianship, with some very
fine instrumental solos..The Villa-Lobos has the bewitching harmonies
characteristic of that composer, and the concerto by Castelnuovo-Tedesco,
John Barbirolli's old friend, is a beguiling mine of melody. Norbert
Kraft lives up to his name with confident performances, and the
disc is incredible value.
