Conrad Marshall – principal flute

Conrad studied at the RNCM with Roger Rostron and Trevor Wye.  He graduated winning the Hiles medal for orchestral playing and has pursued a varied freelance career encompassing  ballet , opera and symphony orchestras, as well as chamber  and  contemporary music.

 

He has been Principal Flute with the Northern Chamber orchestra for over twenty years and has appeared on many of the thirty recordings they have made for Naxos.

 

He is also a member of the leading contemporary ensemble Psappha, with whom he has played since 2001. The ensemble have travelled widely in this country and abroad with tours to North and South America, Australia, Spain and Portugal and have recently started their own recording label.

 

Conrad is visiting flute tutor at The University of Sheffield,  Principal Flute with the National Festival Orchestra and guest principal with the Manchester Concert Orchestra.
